Mented — version 1, 18 September 2026

Mented exists so that aspirants can study and get help from mentors who have been through the same examination. This page says what you may not post and what happens if you do. It applies to everything you write, send or upload: session messages, files you attach, mentor reviews, handover notes, your display name, your mentor profile and study-circle names.

The short version. No harassment, no sexual or hateful content, no threats, no spam, no impersonation, and keep sessions on Mented. Anything you post can be reported by the person who sees it.

What is not allowed

Each heading below is one of the reasons you can pick when you report something in the app, so what you can report and what is prohibited are the same list.

Harassment or bullying

Repeated unwanted contact, insults, mockery, or pressure aimed at a person. Disagreeing with a mentor's advice is fine; going after the mentor is not. Sharing someone's private information — their phone number, address, results or photographs — without their agreement belongs here too.

Sexual or explicit content

Nudity, sexual content, or sexual advances of any kind. Mented is for examination preparation; there is no context in it where this is appropriate. Any sexual approach to a person who is, or appears to be, under 18 will be reported to the authorities as well as removed.

Hate speech or discrimination

Attacking or demeaning people on the basis of caste, religion, region, language, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any comparable characteristic. This includes slurs, caste-based abuse, and content arguing that some group of aspirants does not belong.

Violence or threats

Threatening harm to a person, encouraging self-harm or suicide, or sharing graphic violence. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone — a mentor on this platform is not a crisis service, and we would rather you spoke to one.

Spam or advertising

Promoting a coaching institute, a paid course, a channel or any other service; sending the same message repeatedly; recruiting for anything. Mentors may describe their own experience and what they help with; they may not use sessions or reviews to sell something else.

Pushing contact off Mented

Asking a student or mentor to continue on WhatsApp, Telegram, a personal number or email. This is prohibited for the student's protection rather than ours: off Mented there is no record of the session, no rating, no way to report what happens, and nothing anyone can do if it goes wrong. It is also stated in the guidelines shown at the start of every session, and for a mentor it is grounds for removal.

Impersonation or false claims

Claiming to be someone you are not, claiming a rank, service, cadre, interview call or qualification you do not hold, or posting a review of a session that did not happen. A mentor's credibility is the whole basis on which a student chooses them.

Anything else

This list is not exhaustive. Illegal content, attempts to break or misuse the platform, and content that endangers anyone are prohibited whether or not they are named above. If something is wrong and does not fit a category, report it as Something else and say what happened.

How to report something

Reports go to the Mented team. They are never shown to the person you reported, and they are not a reply to them.

Blocking

Separately from reporting, you can block anyone. Once you do, neither of you can book sessions with each other or send messages in a session you already share, and any progress you were sharing with them stops at once. Your existing session history stays, and they are not told. You can undo it at any time in Profile → Blocked accounts.

What we do about it

We review every report. Depending on what we find, we may:

Every decision is recorded internally, including a decision to take no action and why. We do not publish who reported what.

We are a small team. Reports are read by people, not by an automated filter, so a response takes hours rather than seconds. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the police first — not us.

If you think we got it wrong

Write to getmented@gmail.com from the address on your account and say what was removed or restricted. We will look again and reply.

Changes

If we change what is prohibited, we will update this page, change the version at the top, and ask you to accept it again in the app. The version you accepted is recorded against your account.
