Delete your account

Mented — last updated 10 October 2026

This page explains how to delete your Mented account and the data associated with it. There are two ways to do it: yourself in the app, which is immediate, or by writing to us, which is there for anyone who can no longer sign in.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no waiting period and no way to recover the account afterwards. If you want a copy of anything — an evaluated answer sheet, your study history — save it first.

In the app

This is the fastest route and needs nothing from us.

  1. Open Mented and sign in.
  2. Open Profile: tap your profile picture at the top right of any screen.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. Read what will be deleted, then confirm your password and type DELETE to confirm.

Your account and data are removed straight away. If you signed in with Google, you will be asked to sign in again instead of entering a password.

By email

If you cannot sign in — a lost password, a phone you no longer have — write to us and we will do it for you.

getmented@gmail.com

Send it from the email address you used to sign up, so we can tell it is really you, and say clearly that you want your account deleted. We do not ask for your password, and you should never send it to us.

We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.

What is deleted

What is kept, and why

Two kinds of record survive, because they belong to another person as much as to you. Your name and the link to your account are removed from both, so you appear only as a deleted account:

Separately, our internal log of administrative actions — approving a mentor, answering a support request — is kept for one year. A log that could be erased by deleting an account would not be a record of anything.

Nothing else is retained. We keep no backup copy of a deleted account.

If you are a mentor

Deleting your account removes your mentor profile, your availability and the reviews students left about you.

Cancel any booked sessions first. While a session of yours is still to come, deletion is refused and the app will tell you how many are outstanding. Cancel them in the Mentor tab — a student left holding a session with no mentor cannot cancel it themselves. Once none remain, deletion works exactly as described above.

If you do not want to delete everything

Some things you may be trying to achieve do not need the account gone:
